Group of young scientists supervising by Svetlana Notova — Professor of OSU Biochemistry and Microbiology Department successfully finished five-year research of social stresses adaptation particularity of students with different kinds of functional brain asymmetry.
Young OSU researchers developed the methodology where evaluating of adaptive characteristics by means of psychological testing, study of cardiovascular system functional capabilities, indexes of mineral metabolism and biochemical status are fundamentals.
— It is possible to define human adaptive capabilities, including students with different lateralization profile, only while complete physical examination, — Svetlana Notova tells. — Particularly left-handed persons adapt to stress loads worse. High level of uneasiness is characteristically for them and it is more difficult for them to resolve conflict situations. After study of first-year students cardiovascular system features we have determined that they are adapt less to stress situations. As it turned out left-handed persons differ from right-handers in the level of kalium, cuprum, iodine, silicon, ferrum, lithium, mercuric, magnesium, calcium, boracium, manganese, selenium, vanadium, nickel, zinc and plumbium content in organism.
Basing on received data Orenburg State University scientists developed test system and recommendations to securing of effective adaptation to social stresses of persons with different kinds of brain asymmetry.
