Hiroko Kozuki has always been interested in ancient Russian art

The Orenburg Regional Museum of Fine Arts hosted a one-day exhibition of works by an icon painter Hiroko Kozuki (Japan). The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Russia Toyohisa Kozuki and the Minister of Culture of the Orenburg region Yevgenia Shevchenko conducted the opening ceremony.

Twelve icons exhibited in the Regional Museum of Fine Arts, Hiroko Kozuki draw in the 90s.

— I have been painting icons for more than 20 years — said the artist. — And I have always been interested in ancient Russian art. My husband and I visited many churches and monasteries and old icons impressed me greatly. I tried to learn more about icons and started drawing them myself.

The exhibition was organized under the support of the Embassy of Japan in Russia, and the Orenburg Region government and Orenburg State University.
