Studies do not distract from love!

A university is not just a higher education institution where students gain knowledge, develop their leadership and creative skills, and testing themselves in research and sports. Very often, it is at the university that young people make friends for life, and also meet their soul mate and start a family. On the eve of the Day of Russian Students and the 25th anniversary of the university, OSU Foreign Citizens Office addressed to international students to share their love story. Here are two of them.
Alena and Alexey Rogovskiy
«Perhaps our love story started with my prophetic dream. When I was in a high school, I saw a photo of a very cute guy — Lesha — on my friend’s Instagram profile. I was too shy to write to him, and after a couple of days I completely forgot about him. But about a month later, I had a dream in which Lesha and I were a happy couple, walking in the park and talking about the wedding. I didn’t think much of the dream at that time. After finishing my high school I entered Orenburg State University and moved into the hostel. It happened that the friend lived there, and once he invited me to visit him to introduce me to his room-mate. When I entered the room, I saw Him — Lesha. Something had started inside me but I stopped it, «He’s too handsome to be mine.» But after that meeting we began to communicate and to watch movies together, to cook and walk out. Almost two years after we decided to get married! After the wedding, our love has only become brighter and stronger, and we believe that we will keep this feeling for many years to come!»

Our story is a usual story of ordinary people from an unusual university. I am a second year international student at OSU. By now I have become an active participant in the students’ life, gained some knowledge and made very good friends. And I have also met my soul mate. I know that many people now find their halves in the Internet and my case is no exception. So, the story happened in the middle of my first year at the university. My husband also studied at Orenburg State University. As we were both international students, we both had profiles on the page of OSU Foreign Citizens Office Vkontakte. One night, after finishing «gnawing the granite of science» and before going asleep I decided to have a look at other OSU international students. While scanning hundreds of students I saw a photo of a guy that hooked my eyes. I visited his page and gave my like. And I left his page right away to go to bed. However, just a minute later I got a notification with the request to be added to my friends. It is easy to guess who the request came from! Well, we started communication. He was in Kazakhstan at that time. But one day, late at night, he wrote that he had come to Orenburg to meet me. Now, thanks to our university, I have my support and assistance both for life and studies. My advice is to love and be loved! And my experience shows it is much easier to learn when you are in love!
