How migration policy changes during the pandemic

On December 23 OSU hosted an online meeting for internationa students with officers of the Orenburg region Ministry of Internal Affairs.

First year students togther with seniors and graduates got latest news about norms, changes and amendments in the migration law during the pandemic.

Tatyana Boichuk listed the cases when a foreigner is legal to cross the RF border, what is the stay period and whether this period can be extended because of the pandemic.

Kristina Bolshova described in details the procedure for getting Russian citizenship. The officer mentioned it was simplified thanks to the amendments introduced in summer 2020.

Inna Blagodarskaya informed students that since August 2020 they got the right to employ without getting a special patent to work.

At the end of the meeting students questioned the migration experts about migration cards, how to participate in the state program on rendering assistance to voluntary resettlement to the Russian Federation of compatriots living abroad, etc.
