The Volga — Yangtze Forum has strengthened cooperation between dozens of universities from the two countries

On October 22–23, members and experts from the Volgaš— Yangtze University Association met at the IIIšforum. The event brought together representatives from more than 80 universities in China and Russia.
The forum was organized by Sichuan University and Nizhny Novgorod State Technical University named after R.E.šAlekseev. These two universities formed the Volgaš— Yangtze University Association in 2017. At the moment, it numbers 51šRussian universities and 30šuniversities from China. The main goal of the Association is to develop cooperation between the two countries in the fields of education, culture, science and technology.
This year the forum is held on the Zoom online platform. The main discussion topic is about the cooperation between Russian and Chinese regional universities in post-epidemic period.
— With the spread of COVID-19 all areas of economy faced the need to transform. We have to decide what is the best way for using the Association’s resources to intensify academic cooperation between our countries,š— said Yanzhong Li from Sichuan University.
Yanzhong Li I suggested several steps to develop further cooperation between universities. One of them is the introduction of a joint innovative academic exchange program for students. Online teaching during the pandemic has upgraded teaching methods and made universities more open. To teach students online has become possible.
OSU rector Zhanna Ermakova briefed the forum about Russiaš— China cooperation at OSU.
Russian and Chinese educators talked about net programs, university’s transformation caused by COVID-19, academic cooperation between the universities of Russia and China, etc.
