Students have written the “Dictation of the Victory”

On September 3, on the Day of Military Honour in Russia and the day of WW2 ending OSU students took part in the international educational project “Dictation of the Victory”.

At 3 PM sharp in all cities and towns of Russia with population more than 5000 people and in more than 75 countries all over the world a historical dictation devoted to 75^th anniversary of the Great Victory started.

More than 70 students from OSU joint the project, most of them were first year students from the Institute of Innovations in Social Sciences and Humanities and Massmedia.

“We've organized the “Dictation of the Victory” for the second time. I think it will become a popular tradition among students” — said OSU rector Zhanna Ermakova in her welcoming speech. “Participating in the “Dictation of the Victory” is an enreaching experience as you will learn something new. I hope that the questions you won't answer will provoke your futher interest to the history of the Great Victory, the search for the answers and their studies” — she added.

Dmitriy Safonov, Chief of OSU History Department said that any event of our life turned to an event and part of history that was interesting for researchers. But not the Great Patriotic War. “We are still excited about the war. Heroism on the front-line was important but our grandfathers and grandmothers had to work hard in home front. The Great Patriotic War is a biography of each of us. It predisignated who we are, our prosperity and happiness.”
