OSU hits a happy medium in the rating for classical universities in Russia

According to the research of media group „Russia Today” the University is ranked 44th out of 88 popular classical universities in the ranking for higher education institutions in Russia in 2019.
Higher education institutions of the country are monitored annually. The ranking of RF universities in demand lists state, municipal and private institutions, including 88 classical universities, 125 engineering universities, 49 agrarian universities, 65 universities of humanities, 59 universities of management and 50 medical universities.
The rating took into account such indicators as the percentage of graduates with job placements, the share of funds a university gets for its intellectual products commercialization and academics’ citation index.
With the percentage of graduates (73 %) who got job placement, OSU surpassed even MSU (8 %). But MSU scientists have a much higher citation index — 56 %, (in OSU it equals to 13 % and this is national average). The share of commercialization funds in OSU is 4.7 %, while Nizhnevartovsk State University, the leader in this indicator, has 39 %.
As a result, MSU, Southwest State University (Kursk region) and Boris Yeltsin Ural Federal University made up the top three in the rating.
