To see the country they admire

Three OSU students are back from the study trip to Japan.

The internship was a part of educational programs by Japan-Russia Youth Exchange Center (Tokyo). Orenburg State University is one of the 20 Russian universities that partner the Center.

The internship in the Land of the Rising Sun gives an opportunity to sightsee and get aquainted with various types of traditional art and, of course, to communicate with native speakers thus making a great progress in the language fluency. All of the internship participants — Alexandra Krokhina from the Faculty of Architecture and Construction, Maxim Skorodumov and Sergei Koval from the Aerospace Institute students — have been studying Japanese in OSU for several years. Students have mentioned, that they got interested in the exotic culture and rapidly developing technologies of the Land of the Rising Sun during their school years, and their choice of the university was partially based on the opportunity to study in OSU Japanese Information Center.

This year the internship program included classes and workshops at Wakayama University and Women's Ochanomizu University, as well as visiting the cities of Tokyo, Wakayama, Kyoto and Osaka. The students have visited Japan during one of its most beautiful seasons — Momijigari, the period of viewing the red leaves of Japanese maples. The young people are amazed by Tokyo, which remains bustling even at the nighttime, and Wayakama — a quite city with its lanes and channels, two-storey buildings and astonishing temples among them.

The students are also enthusiastic about taking part in other Japan-Russia programs.
