Things to recall after the Days of Germany in OSU

October 25 was the final day of OSU Days of Germany.

During the week students from Orenburg universities and high schools had an opportunity to discover the exhibits of the photo contest “Exploring the world while travelling” and the poster collection “World heritage of famous Germans’ provided by Goethe Institute. One could take a mini-quiz made up on the exhibitions — a careful examining of posters would help finding the answers. The students could also compete in online-quiz on the biography and scientific heritage of Alexander von Humboldt and take part in essay contest that required writing an essay in German about travelling.

Another event of the Days of Germany was a film discussion. The photo exhibition “The images of the Orenburg region nature” by Alexander Chibilyov, Head of Orenburg division of the Russian Geographical society and RAS Academician, has attracted a large audience. Alexander dedicated the exhibition to 190th anniversary of Alexander von Humboldt's travel across Russian Empire and particularly his visit to Orenburg, Orsk and Sol-Iletsk on September 20–26 in 1829.

One of the most notable events was the theater play Humboldt & Humboldt, performed in German language by student theater “Buterbrody”. It narrated about two brothers, scientists — Wilhelm and Alexander von Humboltds. The author of the play script and the leading man was a German student Jonas Hase.
