Days of Germany: Alexander Schmorell scholarship and “The Silent Revolution”

OSU takes an active part in the Days of Germany in Orenburg.

On September 16 the great hall of “Kosmos” cinema hosted the Alexander Schmorell scholarship ceremony. Four Orenburg students received the scholarship, including two final-year OSU students of Philology faculty Uliana Dyakonova and Natalia Efremova. The award was presented by Hildegard Kronawitter, president of Munich “White rose” foundation.

On September 17 the leading actor of "The Silent Revolution" Leonard Scheicher and the producer of the film Miriam Duessel met students and lecturers of OSU Philology faculty and OSU Institute of Innovations in Social Sciences and Humanities and Massmedia. On the eve of the meeting OSU students attended the premiere of the movie in “Kosmos”. The film narrates about students of a graduation class in East Germany who observed a minute of silence during class time in solidarity with Hungarians that rebelled against pro-Soviet regime in 1956.
