“Volga — Yangtze”: Impressions of China and its youth

Four students of Orenburg State University returned from the Russian-Chinese Youth Forum “Volga — Yangtze” held in Changsha, Hunan province, China.

The forum is held annually, by turns in Russia and China. Its organizers are by the Association of Higher Education Institutions of the Volga Federal District and universities of the upper and middle reaches of the Yangtze River. This year, the Orenburg region was represented by students from Orenburg State University, Orenburg State Pedagogical University and Orenburg Transport Institute.

The OSU students made up half of the delegation. They study at the Faculty of Philology, Chemistry and Biology and the Aerospace Institute but have a common feature — they study Chinese and plan to contribute to Russia China cooperation development. The students had an excursion to the supercomputer center of Hunan University of Traditional Medicine and to the laboratory of Central South University with numerous modern machines that looks like a production hall. Impressive opening and closing ceremonies of the forum took place in the concert halls, which are unusually huge for educational institutions.
