Igor Manzurov, Director of the Ural Territorial Administration of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, held a meeting in Orenburg.
The key experts in science and education of the Orenburg region took part in the conversation: Sergey Cherkasov, Director of the Orenburg Federal Research Center of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Sergey Miroshnikov, Director of the Federal Research Center of Biological Systems and Agro-technologies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Zhanna Ermakova, OSU Rector, Svetlana Alyoshina, Rector of Orenburg State Pedagogical University, and others. Participants presented their vision about the development of education and science in the region. Zhanna Ermakova, OSU Rector suggested to use the idea about a scientific and educational center (SEC) with the conventional name “Integral” as a base for the development program.
This association of leading scientific and educational organizations with the enterprises of the real economy under the dominant coordination role of the regional government is to develop and implement promising research to solve major scientific and technological problems.
In the afternoon, Igor Manzhurov visited the Orenburg State University — its laboratories with CNC machines, the Institute of Micro- and Nanotechnology, the Engineering Center and the multicopter laboratory. Igor Leonidovich got a chance to assess the scientific and technical potential of the university and to discuss with Zhanna Ermakova and scientists the perspectives for cooperation between science, education and business.
