Innovations in Social Sciences and Humanities and community needs

On May 29–30 OSU hosted All-Russia Scientific Conference “Innovations in Social Sciences and Humanities: strategies for fundamental and applied researches”. It was dedicated to the opening of the OSU Institute of Innovations in Social Sciences and Humanities and Massmedia.

Scientists from 34 universities from Russia, Belgium and Kazakhstan participated in the conference. Svetlana Pankova, OSU Prorector for Economics and Strategic Development noted that the event had a special importance to the development of Social Sciences and Humanities and would demonstrate their close links with other fields of science.

Yuri Reznik, a principal researcher from the Institute of Philosophy of the Russian Academy of Science, Director of the Center for Philosophic Communications in his video address to the conference suggested opening the Center for Philosophical Issues Research at OSU.

At the plenary meeting Prof. Marc Van Hulle from the Medical School of KU Leuven (Belgium) presented the findings of his researches about decreasing dementia and Alzheimer disease effects. Tigran Maytesyan, a famous violinist told about the experiments how music made a positive effect on sick people who listened to their favorite pieces of music like Beetles or Mozart.

The conference had 10 sections and 8 round tables.
