About professional ethic and data journalism

On March 5 students of Orenburg universities met with Tina Berezhnaya, IT Advisor of General Director of Russia Today. Her visit was a part of All-Russia Project for students’ discussion clubs “Dialogue Head-to-Head”.

The project’s goal is to demonstrate to young people in the regions that Russia is the country of even chances where one can become successful in any sphere. Famous politicians, journalists, CEOs and government officials serve as illustrative examples of the statement. Tina Berezhnaya is one of the project’s speakers. Future journalists, physiologists, sociologists and students from the OSU Institute of Innovations in Social Sciences and Humanities and Mass Media, Orenburg State Pedagogical University, Orenburg branch of the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration.

Tina Berezhnaya uncovered the secrets of her professional activities in Russia Today and Higher School of Economics where she supervisors the training program “Data Journalism” at the Faculty of Communications, Media and Design.

During 1,5 hour meeting students posed a lot of different questions to the guest: How young journalists should make a name for oneself in a media space? Whether a local specialized publication can get in the top list? What are the perspectives for the development of printed mass media? What information security risks does Russia Today face?
