In late November Khudjand hosted an International scientific conference “Contribution of Russian science in studying a unique history, culture and nature of Tajikistan”. It was dedicated to the 200thšanniversary of Russian Asian Studies.

One of the conference’s participants was Venaliy Amelin, Director of the OSU Research Institute of History and Ethnography of the Southern Urals.

Khudjand State University named after academician B.šGafurov, the OSU Research Institute of History and Ethnography of the Southern Urals, the Russian Center of Science and Culture in Khudjand, and the Association of Asian Nations acted as the event’s coorganizers. Dzhamshed Dzhurazoda, rector of Khudjand State University, Andrey Varlamov, Consul General of the Russian Federation in Tajikistan and Ivan Ivanov, director of the Russian Center of Science and Culture in Khudjand addressed to the audience with a welcoming speech.

During the plenary session and 2šsections 70šscientists from Tajikistan and Russia studied the contribution of Soviet and Russian researchers to the popularization of Tajikistan and its spiritual heritage and culture. They came to the conclusion that cooperation between the scientists of the two countries will lead to better results in researches thus developing national economies and their potential.
