Foreigners in Russia: who studies at OSU

OSU welcomed 219 first year students from near and far abroad countries.

To show international students round the university the Office for Foreign Citizens invited them to the Museum of OSU History. Vitaliy Popov, Director of the Museum, demonstrated to the newcomers a film about OSU glories and introduced them to the museum's exhibits reflecting the milestones of the university’s history and developments.

With great interest students examined both old photos showing the construction of the campus and newish emblems and symbols of FIFA Championship-2018 given to the Museum as presents by the OSU volunteers.

Natalya Yankina, Director of the Office for Foreign Citizens, commented that at present 1 167 students from 12 countries study at OSU. Most of them are from CIS-states: Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Ukraine, Tadjikistan, Turkmenistan, etc. But there are also students who came from far away countries like Vietnam and Equatorial Guinea. The majority of all international students are students from near Kazakhstan who have chosen OSU due to its proximity their country.
