The holders of “The White Rose” grant are OSU students

Anna Balashova and Evgeniy Demin from OSU Faculty of Philology and Journalism got the grant from the fund “The White Rose”.

It has become a tradition to start “The Days of Germany in Orenburg” and to award the grant on the birthday of Alexander Schmorell. He was born in the Orenburg region and migrated to Germany where later he comprised the core of the White Rose, a student resistant group in the Third Reich. The award was instituted in memory of the anti-Nazi hero by “The White Rose” fund after the initiative from the Orenburg Charity Fund “Eurasia”. The sum is paid every month for one academic year for the students who demonstrated academic progress in German language studies.
