05.09.18
Orenburg hosted the III International Youth Educational Forum “Eurasia”. More than 50 of its participants are from OSU and its branches, 30 are volunteers.
On the premises of the Resource Youth Center one could see young girls and boys of different nationalities in T-shirts with “The Forum for those who speaks and thinks in Russian” sign. They chanted “We are the team!” and made photos against the background of Russia’s map with Orenburg on it.
The Forum welcomed the exhibition-fair of leading Russian universities. Within 4 days Orenburg State University presented 4 events. On the first day it presented its volunteers and their activities. The second’s day interactive presentation invited guests to make “A step from Europe to Asia together with OSU scientists”. The third day introduced the visitors to “Russian philology: Orenburg heritage of Pushkin”. The last day demonstrated the findings and discoveries of young scientists. The most popular of all OSU exhibits were special glasses that allowed to watch at the university campus and the city from the OSU library sightseeing platform in 360 format. The Forum’s visitors studied with interest the map of the Orenburg region with the layouts of its sights and businesses. They left their comments in the Forum’s Guest Book, signed postcards with OSU library image to send them to their family and friends to Tver, Teraspol, Murmansk and other cities and countries.
Young people from former Soviet Union Republics demonstrated interest to study in Orenburg State University.
Yuri Berg, Orenburg region Governor and Alexander Bugaev, Director of the RF Agency for Youth Affairs attended the exhibition.
OSU participated in the cultural events organized for the Forum’s visitors. It welcomed them in Gagarin’s square and invited to “built the Eurasia rocket”.
“Eurasia Forum is a grand event not only for Orenburg” — said Janna Ermakova, OSU rector — It is a grand chance for young people from different cities and countries to exchange ideas and get new knowledge. The exhibition-fair of Russian universities shows their possibilities and prospects. It is for sure of great interest both for educators and future students”.
