Venaliy Amelin, Director of the OSU Research Institute of History and Ethnography of the Southern Urals was awarded the Order of Friendship for his achievements in scientific and pedagogical activities, qualified specialists training and years of dedicated work.

The Award Ceremony took place in Nizhny Novgorod on the eve of Russia Day. On behalf of the head of state Vladimir Putin, Mikhail Babich, Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Volga Federal District, presented the award.
