The festive week started with an excursion to Rare Book Department of N.K. Krupskaya Orenburg Regional Library. A meeting with specialists and fosterlings of “Keeping Life” Charity Foundation took place on the same day.
At the round table, Juliana Pykhtina, head of Russian Philology and Methods of Russian Language Teaching Department, Svetlana Matyash, professor of the department, Natalia Dmitrieva and Anna Korobeinikova, associate professors discussed modern problems and perspectives of studying the Slavic languages with the students.
First year students from the Faculty of Law took great interest in the event “Word is a Gift”, where future lawyers competed in eloquence giving courtroom speeches.
On the official day of the Slavic Writing and Culture, first year students from the Faculty of Philology and Journalism delivered a presentation on the origin of Indo-European languages. May 25 was the most eventful day of the celebrations: one could watch a mini-play based on the “The Tale of Peter and Fevronia of Murom”, attend a literary salon, read fairy tales, poems, proverbs, sayings and legends in Russian and Czech languages. Nobody left indifferent to the fairy tale Koblížek (“Kolobok”) presented by freshmen under the guidance of Irina Gorovaya, senior lecturer from the Russian Philology and Methods of Russian Language Teaching Department.
