Baikonur is waiting for OSU students

OSU students and teachers returned from the Baikonur complex.

In 2017, OSU and the Center for Ground-Based Space Infrastructure Facilities Operation (Baikonur) signed a cooperation agreement aimed at developing effective cooperation between the parties in training highly qualified specialists with a view to working at rocket and space enterprises. This year, on May 13–16, two OSU teachers, Nail Sultanov and Lyubov Lisacheva and 27 students from Electrical Power Engineering, Geology and Geography, Applied Biotechnology and Engineering faculties and Aerospace Institute paid a visit to the Baikonur cosmodrome — the first and the largest in the world. They had a tour around the city, the Baikonur Cosmodrome History Museum, the memorial houses of rocket engineer and spacecraft designer Sergei Korolev and cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin.
