Seminars from German lecturers

Native German speakers gave seminars for OSU students and teaching staff.

This was made possible as a part of the project supported of the German Embassy in Russia “Days of Germany in the Regions”. Christina Stute, a linguist, a phonetician and communications specialist from Karlsruhe introduced the theoretical aspects of correct pronunciation of sounds and their combinations in German and conducted a master class in phonetics. Alexei Doerre, a DAAD representative (German Academic Exchange Service), devoted his seminar to the problem of the country’s socio-political development. The students were particularly interested in migration role in history, the current situation and the associated social tension. The discussion involved not only students from the Faculty of Philology and Journalism, but also from the Faculties of Law, Chemistry and Biology, Electrical Power Engineering who take a special training program “Translator/Interpreter in Professional Communication”.
