“Symbols of China”: OSU summed up the Art Competition of exhibition works in Chinese painting style

The 2018 Chinese New Year (the Year of the Dog to the Eastern calendar) began on Friday, February 16. By that date OSU Center for Chinese Language and Culture had organized an Art Competition of exhibition works “Symbols of China”.

It was held in two stages. At first the selection was held in Orenburg educational institutions, and during the second round OSU panel of judges evaluated participants’ work. Among the participants were not only OSU students, but also students from other universities and high schools of the city.

The party arrangers have also organized a quiz for all those present to test their knowledge of the Celestial Empire language and culture. Besides, the students of OSU Center for Chinese Language and Culture took a crack at cooking Chinese dishes: Gong Bao chicken (a famous Sichuan dish), Chinese dumplings with a variety of fillings, Shaobing (Chinese baked flat bread), cellophane noodles with chicken and vegetables. And everyone got fortune cookies.
