Shattered the record by 17 seconds

Oleg Andronov, Senior teacher at OSU Physical Education Department became the winner and the champion of the XXIV Open Masters Russian Cup in Swimming in Kazan.

Over 600 sportsmen from all Russia aged 25 to 90 took part in the event. In total, swimmers have established 86 records at the competition: 74 Russian, 10 European and 2 World records.

Oleg Andronov, Senior teacher at OSU Physical Education Department, a Master of Sports of Russia, set one of the Russian records — 1,500-meter freestyle in 17 minutes 53 seconds in the 40–44 year old category. He shattered his rival's last year's result by 17 seconds. Apart from this, the swimmer was the first in a 400 m freestyle and won a bronze in 200 m freestyle.
