On the podium at the Universiade

Orenburg State University student Maria Kameneva makes gains in the Russian National Swimming Team at the Universiade in Taipei (China).

Maria Kameneva, a first year OSU student got to the podium at the Summer Sport Games three times. She won her first silver in the 4 x 100 metres relay when being part of the Russian National Team. Maria got the second medal for the individual competition. She also took the third silver for the 100 metres freestyle in an individual classification, having covered a distance of 50 metres freestyle in 25.08 seconds. She lost to Carolina Baldwin (USA).

Maria Kameneva trained at Orenburg Children's Sports School „Gazovik”. She is a Master of Sports of Russia, International Class, the World Champion 2016 in the 4 х 50 metres freestyle relay in short course metres. The student won eight medals at the European Championships. Her swimming coach is Vladimir Kirillov. This year she entered the OSU Faculty of Applied Biotechnology and Engineering.
