Experts of the Eurasian Economic Union met in Orenburg to discuss the foundations of solidarity within their countries and in the Eurasian Space.

The International Expert Meeting "Civic identity in the Eurasian Space: problems and prospects" was held in N.K. Krupskaya Library. The OSU Research Institute of the History and Ethnography of the Southern Urals and the Autonomous Non-Commercial Organization "People's Commonwealth of Eurasia" acted as the coorganisers of the conference.

Sociologists, political scientists, ethnologists, religious scholars, the leaders of national and youth organizations and media people from Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Belarus got together to find a consolidating bases for the society.

The participants analysed the common historical past as a unifying factor and acknowledged that certain politicions mythologize it to disunite the nations.

Accroding to the conference’s attendees the Eurasian Economic Union is a lucrative economic project, and the intercivilizational integration with China, India and Iran may become a new promising perspective for economic development.
