OSU students are the winners of “Battle of minds” contest

OSU students of the Faculty of Mathematics and Information Technologies became champions and prizewinners of the student intellectual competition “Battle of minds”. Ulyanovsk Nanocenter ULNANOTECH hosted the event sponsored by “Innopraktika” company.

Yulia Popova and Georgiy Shalaginov, computer security students, represented Orenburg State University in its grand finale — the fifth session of the contest. Together with other senior economics, engineering and IT students they formed national teams of the country's universities and presented their innovative Internet of Things projects to the expert jury and to the investors council.

“Green Ink”, a team of students from Orenburg, Penza, Ulyanovsk and Samara developed a project on remote, timely and autonomous plant watering system “Smart beds”. It took the first place in the final and received Audience Sympathy Prize. All team members, including OSU student Julia Popova, received a first degree diploma and 100,000 rubles.

“Idea generators" team, joining together students from Orenburg, Ufa, Kazan, Saratov, Ulyanovsk and Astrakhan took the third place. Prizewinners were awarded with the diplomas of the third degree, as well as 30,000 rubles.
