Our University Establishes New Contacts with China

OSU Prorector for Academic Affairs Svetlana Pankova as a member of representatives’ group of Volga Federal District’s subjects visited the Anhui province (China).

The event was conducted within the framework of cooperation in trade and economic and humanitarian spheres of regions of Yangtze Up- and Midstream and Volga Federal District. Foreign Affairs Office of Popular Government, Anhui province, was the organizer.

Above 40 delegates of Volga Federal District became participants of 11-day-long visit program. Orenburg region was represented by Minister for Economic Development, Industrial Policy and Trade Natalya Bezborodova, Finance Minister Tatyana Moshkova, Consultant of International Cooperation Department by the Ministry for Culture and Foreign Contacts Aleksandr Dyachenko, OSU Prorector for Academic Affairs Svetlana Pankova, and also chiefs of industrial organizations and trade-manufacturing companies.

During the visit delegates conducted 9 business meetings, discussed a set of questions with chiefs of Foreign Affairs Office by the Government and Committee on Development and Reformation of Anhui province and administration’s representatives of cities Hefei, Anqing and Khuanshan.

Special attention was paid to cooperation in the field of science and education, tourism, culture, youth exchange and discussion of questions on conduction of the meeting in a format of “Volga — Yangtze” with participation of regions’ heads of Volga Federal District and Yangtze Up- and Midstream.

During the meetings with foreign colleagues Svetlana Valentinovna told about Orenburg State University, students’ and pupils’ training in Center for Chinese Language and Culture. Many representatives of companies and higher educational institutions of the receiving party are ready for cooperation, they offer educational and travel packages for students and Orenburg citizens.
