Governor Awarded the First Winners of Eurasian Olympiads and Competitions

On the 19th of May winners and prize-holders of the Eurasian Multidisciplinary Olympiad for senior high school students “Poisk”, Eurasian Competition of Creative Computer Works “University’s IT-Spring” and Eurasian Olympiad on drawing, painting and composition were awarded at OSU. These events were conducted within a framework of the International Educational Project “Eurasian Olympiads and Competitions”.
Pupils, their mentorsš— school teachers and parentsš— gathered in conference hall of the OSU Research Library. Governor of Orenburg region Yuriy Berg, Vice-Governorš— Deputy Prime-Minister of Orenburg region in the field of Internal Policy Vera Bashirova, Education Minister of Orenburg region Vyacheslav Labuzov, Head of Department for Science, Universities’ Activity Coordination by the Education Ministry of Orenburg region Elena Lutsay and Head of Education Department by Orenburg city Administration Nina Gordeeva arrived to congratulate participants.
Project initiator, OSU Rector Zhanna Ermakova in her welcome speech emphasized that the fact of conducted competitions’ numerousness shows that they are necessary for senior high school students. At the present time this project was supported by universities of Kazakhstan and Tajikistan.
In his welcome speech Yuriy Berg noticed that the project is focused on establishing of new and strengthening of existing relations between subjects of Eurasian educational space what underlines one more time Orenburg region’s status as the Eurasian Heart.
160 people were awarded with winner certificates during this ceremony. Eleventh-graders from this number now have an advantage over other applicants to Orenburg State University: 5šadditional points to the total points’ number of the Unified State Exam.
Above 1 400 students from 26 regions of Russia and educational institutions of Kazakhstan participated in Olympiads and competitions.
