“Memorial March”. Victory of the 45th Became Closer

On the 8th and 9th of May Orenburg State University took part in events dedicated to the Victory Day.
On the 8th of May Prorector for Academic Affairs Svetlana Pankova, Prorector for Social and Educational Affairs Sergey Semenov, faculties’ deans and students laid flowers to the Eternal Flame (Podeda Avenue) and in memorial complex-museum “Salyut, Pobeda!”, and also to the Monument of died from wounds in hospitals.
On the 9th of May lecturers and students of Orenburg State University, OSU University College with portraits of their ancestors participated for the third time in the action “Memorial March”.
— Because of the age today’s students have not an opportunity to meet with their ancestors who was at war, — OSU Rector Zhanna Ermakova says. — And it is really important to keep this day in their mind not just a historical event that they are studying at school and university. The day of the 9th of May should be in our hearts. And this national march that is becoming more numerous year by year promotes keeping this date in people mind not as a formal one.
Zhanna Anatolyevna was with portraits of her grandfathers that have returned with Victory and lived into old age. She told that one of them have lost his son during the war, the young man died at the age of 18 years. Nephews are keeping memory of him, the next year on the 9th of May Ermakovy family will participate in the Memorial March with his name plate — there are no photos of this young soldier.
The “Memorial March” took course from the Eternal Flame on Pobeda Avenue to Orenburg State University. A creative platform was organized opposite to OSU Research Library.
