Yuriy Berg: Dictation — About My Small Motherland

On the 8^th of April the regular international educational action “Total dictation 2017” was held in OSU.

Above 1 300 people (in the main campus and its Buzuluk and Orsk Branches) have gathered to examine their literacy. It is the largest number of participants for the entire five-year history of this action in OSU.

OSU Rector and pro-rectors, Vice-Governor — Deputy Prime-Minister of Orenburg region in the field of internal policy Vera Bashirova, students and lecturers of the university together with citizens were writing the text to dictation of Orenburg region’s Governor Yuriy Berg.

Yuriy Aleksandrovich shared with the audience that the text’s author, the literary award’s holder “Big book”, Leonid Yusefovich, is a native of the Perm region, his countryman. Yuriy Berg was born in the north of the Perm region, and he appreciates the primitive state of Kama surroundings that were described in the dictation text. Yuriy Aleksandrovich told that he has moved to Orsk after the first class graduation but he still remembers the beauty of taiga and bogs, and his favorite berry is cranberry.

This year 64 participants of the total dictation got excellent marks (about 8 % from the total participants’ number) and above 200 got mark “good”. It is the best result for all history of the international educational action.
