International Conference: About Revolution 100 Years Later

The International Scientific Conference “Asian part of the Russian Empire in revolution events 1917” was held in Orenburg.
A large-scale forum organized by the OSU Research Institute for History and Ethnography of the Southern Urals and Autonomous Non-Commercial Organization “Association of Eurasia’s Nations” has gathered representatives of the leading research centers of CIS countries: Institute for Russian History of Russian Academy of Sciences, Institute for History and Ethnology of the Kazakhstan Republic, Institute for History, Archeology and Ethnography (Academy of Sciences) of the Tajikistan Republic, archivists, lecturers from Moscow and Orenburg (Russia), Almaty, Kostanay (Kazakhstan), Tashkent (Uzbekistan), Dyushambe (Tajikistan), journalists.
The conference participants have discussed general backgrounds and reasons for broad masses’ participation in revolutionary and national movements 1917, their differences and parallels, forms and interrelations, contribution of Russian working men, military men, activists of political parties to struggle for civil rights within the territory of Central Asia, problems of research methodology and revolution’s revaluation in the modern science.
Generally, conference participants have agreed about necessity in more detailed, reasonable, impersonal studying of revolution events in cooperation of scientists from CIS countries on the new historiographic and methodological base, without changeless ideological stereotypes and radical overthrows.
