“Our Cities Are Changing”. OSU — Among the Winners

The three-day open architectural session “Our cities are changing” was finished in OSU. As a result of the projects competition, OSU team took the first place for the development of the style concept on formation of a comfortable urban environment in Orenburg Region.
The session was devoted to the implementation of the priority project “Building Comfortable Urban Environment.” On the first day, the city authorities set the architectural, town-planning and design community tasks — to transform 5 typical urban spaces and develop a design for graphic elements of the brand book for the project, which will be implemented within five years. Sixteen professional and students teams from Orenburg and Buzuluk participated in the competition. They had less than a day to create a project.
The work of lecturers and students of Orenburg University was highly appreciated. The Minister for Construction, Housing and Communal Services of Orenburg Region Aleksandr Polukhin noted the professionalism and creative approach of the representatives of OSU Architecture and Construction Faculty.
The main prize for the 1st place in the nomination “Design of graphic elements for the brand book for the concept of the project on formation of comfortable urban environment in Orenburg Region” was presented to “Zebra” team, which included the lecturers of OSU Design Department Svetlana Shleyuk, Tatiana Putintseva, Valentina Tsoi and Svyatoslav Ryabov.
Other teams of OSU Architecture and Construction Faculty did not remain without prizes — they took 1, 2 and 3 places in different nominations.
In the final speech, First Vice-Governor — Deputy Chairman of Government of Orenburg Region Sergey Balykin congratulated the winners, recalling that the last session is just the beginning of a long way. The final result is unique yards that will please the residents.
