On the 31st of October and 1st of November the delegation from Ehime prefecture came to OSU within the festival “Days of Japan in OSU”. It became the beginning of the friendship between the Japanese region and Orenburg.

The delegation included 14 people — the director of “Botchan” theater Yoichi Ochi (the head of the delegation), parliament deputies and heads of departments in Ehime prefecture, representatives of Ehime University and Japanese companies as well as musicians of the group “Tsugaru Shamisen and Wadaiko Dandan”.

The signing of memorandum between Ehime University and OSU became the main outcome.

The cooperation with OSU would begin with students’ exchange.

Performance of the group “Tsugaru Shamisen and Wadaiko Dandan” won the audience in the truest sense of the word. The musician Yasuma Horio, the winner of the 25th Japanese National Competition “Tsugaru Shamisen”, was the most expressional. He beat a ruffle on drums and played three-stringed shamisen.

Keysuke Matsui — Head of Culture and Sport Department of Ehime Prefecture presented the own region.

Besides students participated in master class cooking of Japanese noodles Goshiki somen: several minutes of preparation and degustation with pleasure.
