Russian-Kazakhstan Youth Forum “Our Friendship Makes Us Strong!” took place in the regional center Ilek within the framework of the 20th Anniversary Russian-Kazakhstan Expedition on the Ural River.
The activists of youth organizations, postgraduates, students and pupils from Orenburg region and West-Kazakhstan region of near-by republic came to the forum.
People from Russia and Kazakhstan discussed general problems in the sphere of environment protection, development of kids and youth tourism, creative interaction and intercultural dialogue on three thematic round tables and the plenary meeting. Deputy of RF State Duma, the astronaut Roman Romanenko, public leaders, specialists and lecturers of OSU also participated. Venaliy Amelin — director of OSU Scientific Research Institute of South Ural History and Ethnography was the moderator of the round table “Youth in Intercultural Dialogue of Eurasian Space”. Dean of OSU Chemical and Biological Faculty — Aleksandr Rusanov was one of the supervisors of the round table “Ural River Basin: History, Geography and Ecology”.
The youth leaders warned against nationalism and superiority to other nations while discussion of intercultural dialogue need. According to the forum participants, love to the native land and other countries arises in the process of cognition.
The forum participants consider that integration of Russian and Kazakhstan youth organizations at online mediums, usage of mutual hashtags, as well as creation of news aggregators, youth TV and radio will promote expansion of barrier-free communication.
