Japan: Two Universities-Partners and Many Friends

Delegation of Orenburg State University visited Japan.

The first visit meeting OSU Rector Zhanna Ermakova and Director of Japanese Information Center Lyudmila Dokashenko held with members of Japanese-Russian Communications Society headed by President Motokhiko Emory in Tokyo. The issue was development of cultural exchange programs. In particular, parties agreed about extension of Japanese culture master classes in OSU.

Signing of new agreement, excursions around university campus and laboratories, meetings with professors took place in Hiroshima University.

Ekhime University (Matsuyama, prefecture of Ekhime) — is another OSU prospective partner. Meeting of OSU representatives with President Yuichi Ohasi and Head of International Relations Department Kazdumi Yamauchi demonstrated intention for collaboration.

Genuine interest to OSU Summer School was shown in both Japanese universities: survey lectures on students’ majors will be delivered on students demand.

Possibilities of historians’ cooperation on study of World War II Japanese prisoners burying in Orenburg were discussed on the meeting with Matsuyama Mayor Katsukhito Nosi.
