Yuriy Berg — Governor of Orenburg Region met representatives of local scientific and pedagogical community on the Day of Russian Science.

Scientists greatly contributed to development of economic and social sphere of the region in 2015 came on this festive event. Delegation from Orenburg State University under the leadership of Rector — Zhanna Ermakova was the most numerous (more than 50 people).

Yuriy Berg congratulated the audience with professional holiday and noted that government of Orenburg Region saved all measures of state support for scientists: total grants in amount of 33,2 million rubles, over 10 million rubles of awards and scholarships are paid to young candidates and doctors of sciences in spite of social and economic difficulties. The cooperation agreements with RHSF and RFBR are prolonged till the year 2025.

— These and other measures help to keep Orenburg scientific schools and unity of the regional academic space. Hundreds of studies were carried out as a result, — the governor emphasized.

Also he announced tasks to be solved by Orenburg scientific community.

— The Government of Russian Federation assigned tasks on science efficiency improvement for universities and research institutes. It is possible to carry out these tasks only in close cooperation between federal and regional authorities, Rectors’ council of Orenburg regional HEIs, all scientific and pedagogical community, — Yuriy Berg told.

Furthermore the governor reminded that one of state policy priorities is promoting of science and technologies — educational projects to be organized with support of the Ministry for Education and regional mass media.

Vyacheslav Labuzov, Minister for Education of Orenburg Region, congratulated all with the professional holiday.

Awarding of Orenburg scientists for merits in scientific, pedagogical and innovative activity took place in the framework of traditional meeting. Thirty scientific teams, 85 young candidates and doctors of sciences received Governor Awards that day.

Twenty eight young scientists from OSU received personal scholarships and 22 scientists became Governor Award Winners in the sphere of science and technology.
