Tatiana’s Day in OSU — 2016

On the 25^th of January Orenburg State University celebrated the Day of Russian Studentship and own 20^th birthday in the status of classical university.

Solemn meetings of University faculties and units devoted to Tatiana’s Day took place in OSU on the 22^nd of January — on the eve of memorable day. Students, lecturers and employees received honorary certificates and grateful letters from Rector and Units’ Heads for dedicated work, high achievements in study, science, sport and social activity.

Exhibition "They Stand at the Origins" — for 20^th birthday of University was organized by OSU History Museum in the morning of Russian Studentship Day. It was possible to see table items of the first Director of Orenburg branch of Kuibyshev Polytechnic Institute — Pavel Yudkovskiy, photo of university in a retrospective, scientific works of the first lecturers in the extensive exposition.

According to the long-term tradition ceremonial prayer took place in the church of Saint Martyr Tatiana (Patroness of Studentship) located on the territory of university. OSU Rector Zhanna Ermakova, vice-rectors, lecturers, students and citizens came on the solemn prayer which was conducted by New Metropolitan of Orenburg and Saraktash — Veniamin for the first time.

Joint meeting of University and faculties scientific councils took place in the big hall of OSU Students Center — CC "Russia". Vyacheslav Labuzov — Education Minister of Orenburg Region welcomed its participants. He read the Order of RF Ministry of Education and Science about assignment of Zhanna Ermakova to position of OSU Rector. She will head the largest regional university till January 21, 2021.

Zhanna Ermakova delivered report "Orenburg State University: Development Strategy of Central University". She thanked all who contribute significantly to formation and development of higher educational institution — rectors, university veterans, heads of scientific fields and described shortly results on tasks set in 2015.

Awarding of personnel who were granted the title of "Honorary Worker of Russian Federation Higher Professional Education" by RF Ministry of Education and Science took place within the framework of the solemn meeting. They received honorary certificates for great contribution in preparation of highly-qualified specialists.

New veterans of OSU were awarded on the stage. Also heroes of the evening were young people who got "Best OSU Student" title and winners of annual competition "Best OSU Group".

In the end of the official evening the winners of Spartakiada "Sprightliness and Health" — OSU lecturers and employees received letters of recognition and special cups.

The solemn concert became a culmination of the celebration. According to the long tradition all creative teams prepared new performances that day.
