OSU Scientists — for Orenburg Judaic Diaspora

Presentation of a new book "Jewry in Orenburg Region: Religion and Culture" took place at Orenburg synagogue. This work was written by employees of OSU South Ural History and Ethnography Research Institute — Denis Denisov and Konstantin Morgunov.

Veterans and homefront workers, active members of religious Judaic community, the rabbi of Orenburg — Goel Mayers, chairman of regional Jew national and cultural autonomy — Mikhail Ader, head of Judaic library — Frida Gendler, Honored Russian scientist, doctor — Ilya Kagan, philologist — Igor Savelzon and many others came on the meeting with the authors.

The authors told about long-term creation of the book and unique archive materials about history of formation and development of Orenburg Jewish community found during the study. Also the writers answered questions of interest guests.

The book presentation took place within the framework of "Shalom-2015" cultural festival and Community festival of Jewish book attracted strong interest of readers.
