"Kalinka" on Holiday of Indian God

Folk pop dance group "Zhemchuzhinka" of OSU Students Center — CC "Russia" returned from creative expedition through India invited by interregional social organization "Dostoyanie".

"Zhemchuzhinka" participated in several events devoted to anniversary of Russian Science and Culture Centers in Delhi and Mumbai (Bombay), youth festival "Rendezvous" in New Delhi, Dusser folk dance festival in Kullu Himalaya valley.

— We showed the best dance performances, including mingle with Orenburg shawl, — Yulia Sevostyanova — student of OSU Information Technology Faculty told. — People came behind the curtain to speak with us, say thanks and asked Russian kokoshnik for photo shoots.

OSU artists visited variety of India sights and one of them was house museum of Nicolay Rerikh — Great Russian painter and philosopher. They came on master’s birth anniversary and took part in this event. Three young principal dancers of "Zhemchuzhinka" hoisted national flags of Russia, India and flag — symbol of Rerikh domain; and Olga Morozova — group art director together with Denis Alipov — Minister-Counselor of Russian Embassy in India opened the exhibition of Nikolay Rerikh cutting the ribbon.

Orenburg students felt country’s culture and atmosphere on the annual Dusser festival in honor of Rama God: different Gods were carried on chariot accompanied by songs and dances. Actors from other countries appeared on this Indian holiday, "Zhemchuzhinka" presented Russian "Kalinka". All performances of OSU creative group attracted Indian viewers’ interest but they applauded standing after "Flame and Water" dance.
