Liberec: Focus on Cooperation

On the 11th of November a delegation from Liberec, Czech Republic, visited Orenburg State University and met the administration.
Czech delegation arrived to the regional center for the 5th Eurasian Economic Forum and decided to have opportunity make acquaintance with the leading university of Orenburg region. OSU Acting Rector Zhanna Ermakova met the guests in her office: Joseph Yadrnyš— Liberec Deputy Governor for Environment and Agriculture, Rene Havlikš— Chief of Liberec Territorial Institute, Vera Yirankovaš— employee of this institute, and Yaroslav Souchek, businessman.
The Acting Rector told that OSU belongs to 20šlargest universities in Russian Federationš— number of its students is about 27šthousand people. The University has educational programs in more than 130šdirections of Bachelor’s and Master’s level, postgraduate studies and several thesis committees in the University.
She also said that OSU cooperates with universities of Czech Republic for about 10šyears. During these years students visited European country for studying in summer linguistic schools, got acquaintance with its traditions and customs, characteristics of market economy. Rene Havlik, Chief of Liberec Institute, noticed that Liberec and Orenburg regions cooperate for 10šyears and told about their main universityš— Liberec Technical University. It is the leader in nanotechnologies and center for academic exchange. Rene Havlik emphasized that Russian language becomes popular in Czech Republic and young people are interested in it. They want to take training in Russia, but the main focus is on Moscow.
Both sides came to the opinion that Orenburg State University and Liberec Territorial University are similar in training’s structure and the sphere of scientific interests. They have a huge field for cooperation. That’s why it is necessary to sign an agreement between universities without delay, because validity of previous agreement was expired. The mmeting made a decision to hand the guests a draft document for further considering by Rector of Czech University.
