Days of Japan in OSU: Kaizen, Origami and "Nabby Love"

The 12th festival "Days of Japan in OSU" came to the end in Orenburg State University. Fans of Japanese cinema, literature, origami as well as doctors from Orenburg and the region took part in the festival.
Deputy Minister of Culture and External Communications of Orenburg regionš— Head of International Cooperation Department Aleksandr Kalinin, OSU Vice-rector for International Activity Grigoriy Pyatkin, lecturer of Japanese language in OSU Megumi Kitamura and lecturer of Japanese-Russian Center of Youth Exchange in Tokyo Tomoko Ishibashi took part in the opening ceremony on the 6th of October.
On the 8th of October Professor of Hokkaido Medical University, consultant in the sphere of international medicineš— Yudjiro Handa staged business seminar "Kaizen in the Sphere of Medicine" which took the whole working day with a lot of questions.
This event was organised on the basis of City Clinical Hospital named after N.I.šPirogov and over 60šdoctors as well as representatives of Orenburg Regional Health Ministry, hotel and tourism business, lecturers of OSU Economics and Management Faculty participated.
Professor Yudjiro Handa told about main principles of kaizen giving particular examples. He fixed on relations between doctor and patient: attendees agreed that even qualitative treatment will be depreciated without patient care. There was a talk about like-minded team’ creation in medical institution, employee motivation and satisfaction, arrangement of team work, competitiveness and positive thinking.
As the summary Head Doctor of City Clinical Hospital named after N.I.šPirogov Andrey Karpets told that many things discussed can be implemented in Orenburg hospitals.
Meantime the book exhibition "Japan: Traditions, Art, Literature" was opened in OSU Scientific Library. It consists of three expositions. The first part contains books about Japan history and its relations with Russia. The second exhibition part gives us opportunity to know more about music and theatre of Land of the Rising Sun. The third part was presented by examples of Japanese classical and modern literature.
Origami master classes took place in "Kosmos" cinema multiplex. Megumi Kitamuraš— lecturer of Japanese language and students of OSU Japanese Information Center helped guests to choose paper and make figures.
The best Japanese movies were presented during the whole week.
Aoyama Masatoš— attaché of Japan Embassy in Russian Federation was the latest guest on Japan Days of OSU. He participated in master class and has sightseeing tour around the city with comments in Japanese language organized by students of Japan Information Center.
The festival "Days of Japan in OSU" was ended up with round table on the topic of "Japanese Family Traditions". Rituals accompany Nippons on a more frequent basis than other nations: not only New Year and wedding dates, but also child's birth, day of majority (20šyears), first year in school and etc. All these family aspects were discussed in Japanese.
