Festival "Russia and Germany: understanding of languages and cultures" was opened on the 18th of May in OSU on German Philology and Teaching Methodology of German Language Department at Faculty of Philology and Journalism.

It is devoted to the 10th anniversary of cooperation between OSU and Robert Bosch Fund by the program "Lectures in Central and Eastern Europe countries". Fund staff gives classes in various linguistic subjects as well as within German language courses.

On the festival opening the dean of OSU Philology and Journalism Faculty Irina Solodilova told about history of long-term friendship and seven lecturers from Germany took part in educational process of the university during this time. Then Mari-Louise Tralle and Tobias Schmalkhofer from Germany welcomed Orenburg students and colleagues by means of video message.

Lecturer of German service of academic exchange (DAAD) Alexey Derre (Ufa), lecturer of R.šBosch Fabian Helm Fund (Izhevsk), employee of Goethe Danny Lenz Institute (Ekaterinburg) and Fund representative Catharina Zevening conducted master classes and trainings.

Stage curtain was opened on festival’s end just as in first years of cooperation. Pupils from gymnasiums No.š1, 3, school No.š61 and cadets of Presidential cadet school presented joint performance based on Erich Kestner's opus "Emil and Detectives". And OSU students represented continuation of fascinating story they composed independently.
