'Waltz of Victory' on Sovetskaya Street

On the 6th of May OSU students took part in the most widespread action in history of Orenburg. It took place in main cities of Russian Federation in honor of the 70th anniversary of Great Victory.

Young people lined up through the whole Soviet street. Students of the University: boys in white shirts, girls in dresses almost the same agemates wore 70 years ago came there. Couples danced together to "May Waltz" song by Yaroslav Evdokimov and "Day of Victory" of David Tukhmanov and Vladimir Kharitonov sung by chorus of flashmob participants. People said "Thank You" three times. At that moment students of different educational institutions let fly red air balloons over the pedestrian bridge through Ural River. At the start of the action students lined up on the bridge with bright "beacons" so it was possible to see "Thank You" word from bird’s eye view.

Holiday concert "Salute Victory!" took place this day for veterans of Great Patriotic War and homefront workers in Students Center CC "Russia".

In the morning of the 8th of May OSU delegation took part in solemn wreath-laying ceremony by eternal light and in memorial complex-museum "Salute Victory".

Really extensive action devoted to celebration of Victory Day anniversary took place on the 9th of May.

Parade with thousands of participants and viewers opened the holiday in Orenburg. Students of Orenburg State University took active part in organization of mass theatrical performances.

More than 400 students and teachers of Orenburg State University took part in solemn citizens procession with photos of relatives — war participants. Exhibitions and creative places were opened near OSU campus. Citizens could taste bread cooked according to the recipe of blockaded Leningrad.

Students of different faculties and OSU volunteers organized action "My voice is for peace", flashmob "We are for peace", poetic place with poems and ballades about War as well as children’s’ playgrounds where it was possible to draw and dance.

In the end of the holiday massive salute thundered accompanied by legendary "Victory Day" song.
