OSU students took part in the International Research and Practice Conference "Feat of Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War" dedicated to 70th anniversary of the Victory.
International Research and Practice Conference "Feat of Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War" was held in Orenburg on 16–17th of April. Orenburg State University and other HEI of the city together with Regional Administration and Ministry of Education of Orenburg region were organizers of this event.
Representatives of 52 cities, 8 far abroad and near countries (including Japan, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, and Belarus) — university and academic science staff of Russian Federation, lecturers of vocational secondary education, history and social studies teachers from Orenburg schools, universities and colleges students, pupils participated in this conference.
In the framework of the conference students section "Youth view of the Great Patriotic War" was held on 16th of April in OSU. Lecturers, employees and students of OSU, Scientific Research Institute for History and Ethnography of the Southern Ural (OSU) and Orenburg State Pedagogical University took part in this meeting.
A guest from Moscow Valentina Chebotareva, Doctor of Historical Sciences, told about special mentality of Russian people what made a great figure in the Victory. Vladimir Semenov, Associate Professor of Department of National History, Political and Social Sciences (Orenburg State Pedagogical University) told about Heroes of the Great Patriotic War and notable commanders of Orenburg region. Young generation listened with special interest about Heroes of Soviet Union — age mates: 17–18 years boys being just students or pupils.
A plenary session of the conference was organized on 17th of April in Orenburg Regional Dramatic Theatre named after M. Gorkiy. Scientists have discussed problems of history falsification in the Great Patriotic War and other topics.
