Orenburg State University Educates: Lectures for Citizens

On the 7th of February, before the Day of Russian Science, Orenburg State University invited citizens for public lectures for the second time.
About 400 guests visited OSU in spite of snowstorm.
Pupils, elderly, teachers and lecturers of Orenburg universities interested in history, medicine, physics, power, radiation safety as well as modern economic situation in Russia and abroad came to the University on Saturday morning. OSU Vice-rectors welcomed guests of every lecture.
— There are a lot of achievements in our university, that’s why we decided to share even its part,š— Tatyana Petukhova, Vice-rector for Academic Methodology tells.š— “Public Lectures” project was launched last year disseminating scientific thoughts of my colleagues among the wide audience.
Lectures turned out public; there was no excessive scientific terminology difficult for perception of a common person. Especially active and interested citizens wrote the wishes about public lectures they would like to see in the future: several days a year, at different timesš— so participant could attend not only one lecture. Someone noticed that they needed an excursion at OSU Research Library building, because many, particularly children, looked around curiously.
