Tatiana’s Day: Traditional Holiday

On the 25th of January OSU celebrated the double holiday: Day of University Foundation and Day of Russian Studentship. Holiday meetings at OSU faculties and departments took place the day before. In festive atmosphere students, lecturers, employees and postgraduates received Rector’s honorary certificates and grateful letters for achievements in education, science, sport and social activity.
Main events took place on the 25th of January. This day, according to many years tradition, Orenburg and Saraktash metropolitan Valentin led prayer in OSU chapel of Saint Tatianaš— the patroness of studentship. The metropolitan warmly congratulated Rector, academic staff and students with Tatiana’s Day after ceremonial church service.
Later the joint meeting of University academic council and faculties’ councils took place in the big hall of OSU Students Centerš— CC “Rossia”, where Rector Vladimir Kovalevskiy made detailed report.
He summed up last year resultsš— successful result on State accreditation and participation in federal and international educational projects.
Solemn awarding of the best employees and students was accompanied by storm of applause.
Dmitriy Kulaginš— Vice-governor, Deputy PM, Head of Government of Orenburg region congratulated attendees on behalf of Governor. He noticed considering Knowledge Day and Day of Russian Studentship in OSU as the most important events for him and visits it with pleasure.
Sergey Gavrilinš— General Federal Inspector of Orenburg region appreciated importance of Orenburg State University in professionals’ training and expressed special gratitude to academic staff.
Aleksandr Mostovenkoš— Head of Regional Executive Committee of Orenburg political fraction “United Russia” and Andrey Shevchenkoš— Deputy Head of Orenburg continue congratulations.
The performance of dance and vocal groups, fashion theatre “Kristall” and “Antre” circus studio of OSU Students Centerš— CC “Rossia” was a “Holiday Cake”. Traditionally they prepared new concert program.
