Father Frost and Citizens

Traditionally the students of OSU Design Department on Architecture and Construction Faculty took part in Pre-New Year exhibition project.

On 17^th of December the "Father Frost’ Day" exhibition was opened in the gallery of "Orenburg Shawl", prepared by Honored Man of Culture in Russian Federation, assistant professor of OSU Drawing and Painting Department — Gennadiy Naydanov. The Design Department’ students presented their creative projects: handmade postcards, unusual panel pictures, different kinds of toys and pieces of art.

This year exhibition is notable for plenty of original works performed in different techniques: origami, quilling, calligraphy, painting and wood carving.

Unusual and symbolic Father Frost attracted the audience’s attention. Young designers Anna Sovetova and Natalya Garnova dressed it in snow-white Orenburg shawl. The considerable part of exhibition consisted of rare New-Year’s toys dated by the middle of the last century — fancy figurines of Father Frost, Snow Maiden and Snowman. These exhibits were collected from Orenburg citizens one by one. The biggest part of collection, skillfully renovated by the students of OSU Design Department, belongs to Gennadiy Naydanov.
