The solemn meeting of Orenburg region Governor Yuriy Berg and representatives of local scientific community was held on the 3^rd of February.

Minister of Education of Orenburg region Vyacheslav Labuzov, Committee chairman of Legislative assembly of Orenburg region on education, science, culture and sport Gennadiy Averyanov, Rector of Orenburg State University Vladimir Kovalevsky and others took part in the event.

According to Yuriy Berg, researches of our scientists are well known not only in Russia, but also abroad. It is gratifying that youth take active part in region scientific life. For example, young scientists received 60 personal grants and 25 personal awards for their development in the year 2013. 20 Doctors and 154 Candidates of Sciences defended dissertations in the last year.

Yuriy Berg expressed special gratitude to the faculty and staff case of universities, in particular to OSU Rector Vladimir Kovalevskiy, who was awarded Order of Merit for Motherland of second degree.
