On 21st of November the Fulbright Scholar, assistant professor of OSU Theory and Practice of Translation Department Kolam Leckie held presentation "Indigenous people of modern America".

To learn more about the indigenous population of U.S.š— Indians was possible not only for students of linguistic specialties, but also for the future economists and lawyers. Mr. Leckie introduced the audience to the historical stages of Indian tribes’ life in American society, including the establishment of reserves and active struggle against the colonialists. He also told about the situation of the indigenous peoples of America, citing the example of the Zuni reservation residents (New Mexico).

Mr. Leckie teaches a number of specialized disciplines to the students of OSU Philology Faculty from the beginning of the academic year; however this lecture, designed for a large number of listeners, has been done for the first time. It was arranged by the Department of International Relations of Orenburg State University.
